John C. McBeath is a Vice President of Platt, Sparks & Associates, Consulting Petroleum Engineers, Inc. John joined Platt Sparks in 1996 and is currently involved in a wide variety of petroleum engineering projects. John's responsibilities include reservoir engineering studies, log analysis, reserve determination, economic analysis, fair market value determinations, reservoir simulation, and enhanced oil recovery studies. John has participated in numerous projects relating to CO2 flooding. These projects included all aspects of CO2 EOR including CO2 source field review, transportation, contract analysis and marketing as well as detailed flood performance and economic reviews. John has also performed economic analysis of complex production enhancement agreements and has worked on International projects involving reservoirs in Venezuela and Argentina. John began his career upon graduation from the University of Texas at Austin, in 1987, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. Over the next five years, he worked as a Field Engineer for Schlumberger International with assignments in Kuwait, Egypt, Pakistan and the Sultanate of Oman. During this time with Schlumberger, he gained valuable field experience in open-hole and cased-hole logging, drilling, work-over and perforating operations. After returning to Texas, John worked with the Cadmus Group in an audit of Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission injection well files for the Environmental Protection Agency. In 1994, he was employed by Miller Consulting, Inc. and was exposed to a wide variety of Texas oil and gas regulatory matters including drilling permit filings, new field discovery and injection well applications as well as several large research projects involving Gulf Coast salt dome storage.

John is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, Wyoming and California, a member and officer of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers and the Society of Professional Well Log Analysts. John has testified as an expert in litigation matters in Texas and Wyoming.
